Hey, kiddo. If you've reading this, it's because I've disappeared again. So, first of all: sorry about that. It can't be helped either way, right? There are so many things in this world--these worlds--that we have no control over. It's daunting, to say the least. But here's one thing that's true: you're my son, and I love you. No matter where you are. No matter where I am.

I gave you a pendant with my family's crest, or I should have done. Hopefully I did. My mind isn't the sharp tack it used to be. In any case, it's not just for sentiment. Keep it on you. [Honestly, Finrod isn't looking too good himself; he seems worn, and that inner light he carries around with him seems a little dimmed, somehow. But his voice, at least, is still the same- melodic, calm, and even-keeled.]

[Belthazar lifts his head up. Judging by the messy hair around his face, he has, in fact, fallen asleep with his face in a book. There are many other books scattered around him, including on the bed, so this seems to be a regular occurrence.]

[He sits up and rubs his face on his sleeve.] What time is it...?

[ So, there's going to be a ball! And Eithan is so pumped to go! Which, honestly, has him pretty surprised at himself. But hey, he'll chalk it up to missing family. Or something like that. But!
